Claydon Drills has expanded its sales team with the appointment of Peter Homer, who will work closely with Commercial Director Spencer Claydon, together with Territory Managers Taig Norman in the North/East and Mike Green in the South/West, to expand the dealer network and customer base throughout Wales and The Wirral.
Peter joined Claydon Drills in April from Sumo UK where he was a member of the sales team for 12 years, having previously spent six years working for machinery and spare parts supplier Spaldings Ltd. He comments:
“Claydon are a very professional manufacturing company, with an excellent reputation and a very innovative product range. Their 14 years’ experience in the strip seeding market, combined with the ability to demonstrate the effectiveness of using it on their family farm in Suffolk, is unrivalled. Such a high level of experience, expertise and support provides a very compelling case to invest in Claydon products and I am delighted to be working for a company with such a solid reputation.
“Part of my new role will be to appoint dealers who are not currently able to offer their customers this type of technology and would like to participate in the growing demand for Claydon products. They will be pushing at an open door in terms of market potential, because the benefits of strip seeding are becoming increasingly apparent to more and more farming businesses who face the challenge of low agricultural commodity prices and want to reduce their cost base in order to remain profitable.
Claydon have more experience of this technology than any other company in the UK and the effectiveness, simplicity and low running costs of their products provide farmers with a financially and agronomically-attractive alternative to all other crop establishment systems,” he added.
