The new Fendt 1000 Vario range consists of 4 models (1038 Vario, 1042 Vario, 1046 Vario, 1050 Vario) and is a compact standard high-horsepower tractor ranging from 380 – 500 hp.
It is compact, versatile and has an unladen weight of 14 tonnes. It can also be used for a variety of tasks including transport work (60 km/h) or heavy PTO work such as wood chipping or mulching as well as more common agricultural tasks such as land preparation.
It is also ideal for work requiring low ground pressure, such as drilling and the vehicle can be ballasted according to need with up to 50 percent of its base weight. There are modular equipment options, with/without rear linkage or rear PTO, and a large number of hydraulic, hitch and linkage variants. It is compatible with all conventional implements and , even those of previous high-horsepower tractors. AGCO say the Fendt 1000 Vario has been designed for the heaviest draft work which, until now, has been reserved for articulated, tracked and system tractors.
Also on display for the first time will be the Fendt Katana 85. Serial production of this model began in early 2015 and it joins the Fendt Katana 65 which was introduced to the UK in 2013.
The Fendt Katana 85 features a 21 litre V12 MTU engine developing 850 hp and variable header speed with ground following capability in all crops. The range also features six feed rollers.
Crop is presented evenly to the cylinder and shear bar helping the machine achieve an impressive chop length consistency. It is available with a 20, 28 or 40 knife cylinder. This enables customers to achieve chop lengths from 2.6 mm to 29 mm depending on the cylinder that is selected with a full set of knives.
The Katana 85 can be specified with a 1430 litre fuel tank or a combination of fuel and additive tanks are also available depending on the customers’ requirements.
