A limited edition scale model of the most powerful McCormick tractor ever built has been introduced to celebrate the commercial launch of the real thing.
The Universal Hobbies rendering of the big tractor is very realistic – from the amber flashing lights sprouting from the cab to warn other road users of the big tractor’s presence to the hood and cab glass decals.
“Having previewed the new McCormick X8 VT-Drive tractor at the LAMMA show in January 2017, we are now open to take orders for the production version of this magnificent machine,” says Ray Spinks, general manager and sales director at AgriArgo, the McCormick UK and Ireland distributor.
“With up to 310hp for all applications, a proven heavy-duty stepless transmission, one of the nicest cabs in the business and traction to handle the biggest implements, the new X8 VT-Drive is an exciting addition to the McCormick range.”
The model X8 VT-Drive faithfully reproduces the seat-mounted control console and touch-screen display of the real tractor and has the added feature of a driver dressed in flat cap and McCormick overalls in the cab.
Also, unlike the regular model X8 VT-Drive, which is finished in the usual McCormick bright red and silver, the new limited edition is finished in an eye-catching and distinctive darker metallic red – which is also available on full-size McCormick tractors.
In addition to steerable front wheels, the model has front and rear linkage with a movable top link for attaching implements or the front weight block, and a pick-up hitch for coupling a miniature trailer, tanker, sprayer or spreader.
Other details on the mostly metal model include linkage lift rams, pto and hydraulic couplings, wing mirrors and representations of the work and road lights, a windscreen wipers and the mudguard-mounted control switches.
Just 1,000 examples of the model have been produced; it comes on a base carrying essential data such as the real tractor’s big horsepower output and is available from McCormick dealers with a £60.13 recommended retail price.
