Sustainable food – Kellogg’s Origins Virtual Conference

The Kellogg’s Origins project will hold a virtual conference on 19th November which aims to challenge conventional thinking and inspire farmers to bring together sustainable and commercial farming.  

Aspirational thinking will be needed to lead the industry to post-Brexit, productive and efficient agriculture and this event will look at how we can successfully bring quality, sustainable food to the consumer, whilst protecting biodiversity. 

Experts will be looking at how farmers can use the environment to their benefit, reviewing Environmental Land Management (ELMs) going forward and how we can harness natural predators to minimise inputs.

Nitrogen use will be examined to assess how we can impact on productivity, before we turn the focus to carbon analysis and moving towards carbon zero. 

Finally, Professor Steve McGrath from Rothamsted will take an overview to consider how the food we produce in the field can transfer nutrients into the food chain, with the potential to improve crop yields, human and animal health.

In just a few hours, delegates will be given an insight into the future and how Kellogg’s is working with its Origins farmers, across the world, to improve the environment and quality of life for its farmers and consumers.
